What is ROI in Marketing?

ROI stands for Return on Investment in marketing. It helps measure how much money you gain from the money you spend on marketing. Think of it as checking if the money you used to buy seeds has grown into a big tree with lots of fruits (profits).

  • See if your marketing strategies are working well. If the ROI is high, it means your strategies are doing well.
  • Decide where to spend your money. If one type of marketing has a better ROI, you might choose to spend more money there.

How Do You Calculate ROI in Marketing?

To calculate ROI, you use a simple formula:

  • Subtract the cost of your marketing from the gain you got from it (this could be increased sales or other benefits).
  • Then, divide that number by the cost of your marketing.
  • Finally, multiply that number by 100 to get a percentage. This percentage tells you how much you earned compared to what you spent.

For example, if you spent $100 on marketing and earned $150 from it, your ROI would be 50%. This means for every dollar spent, you earned 50 cents extra.
